Joinery disputes usually arise out of poor contractual documentation and/or defective work or materials used.


In all likelihood your plans will lack some critical details that will affect all joinery work. Specifications are often omitted which will result in contractors using their own discretion in choosing what materials to use. This choice as exercised by the contractor might be the most cost effective one, but not necessarily the best option for the work at hand.


As usual, changes requested later on by the owner will in all likelihood also create tension when it comes to expectations vs reality of the materials used.
